The forests of Massachusetts face many challenges which can alter ecosystem functions and spur the loss of habitat for birds and other wildlife. Jeff Ritterson will discuss how managing our forests for bird habitat can not only bolster our bird populations, but also contribute towards broader forest conservation goals in the face of an uncertain future. Jeff is a Field Ornithologist at Mass Audubon, where his focus is on working landscapes and forest management. Originally hailing from Delaware, Jeff attended grad school at UMass Amherst, and remained in Massachusetts for the vibrant conservation community and magnificent forests.
